Green Smoothie
Recipes · Breakfast · Recipe, Typed Supps
A way to eat two handfuls of spinach without noticing you have done it.
Allergens and patterns
Contains milk, tree nuts. Fits: Vegetarian, Pescatarian, Halal, Kosher, Gluten-free.
Ingredients
- 2 large handfuls (60g) Spinach — Blended raw. Its folate and vitamin K survive far better this way than they do in a hot pan.
- 1 banana (120g) Banana — Sweetness and body. Without it, a green smoothie tastes like a lawn.
- 1/2 cup (120g) Greek Yogurt — The protein that makes this a breakfast rather than a drink.
- 3/4 cup (200ml) Almond Milk — The liquid. Check the label — most brands carry very little protein of their own.
- 1 tbsp (10g) Chia Seeds — Fibre and omega-3, and it thickens the glass slightly as it stands.
