Oat Bran with Prunes
Recipes · Breakfast · Recipe, Typed Supps
The highest-fibre breakfast in the library, and it is not close.
Allergens and patterns
Contains gluten, milk. Fits: Vegetarian, Pescatarian, Halal, Kosher.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (50g) Oat Bran — The outer layer of the oat on its own, so roughly double the fibre of rolled oats in the same weight.
- 5, chopped (50g) Prunes — Both fibre and sorbitol, which is the reason they have the reputation they have. They also sweeten the whole bowl.
- 1 cup (250g) Milk — Oat bran thickens hard and fast, so it needs more liquid than you expect.
- 1 tbsp (10g) Ground Flaxseed — Stirred in at the end. More fibre, plus plant omega-3.
- 1/2 tsp (2g) Ground Cinnamon — Oat bran is plainer than oats and needs the help.
