Terms & medical disclaimer

Last updated 30 July 2026
Typed provides educational content only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it does not replace a conversation with a qualified healthcare provider.
Before launch: add the operating entity's legal name and governing jurisdiction, and have a lawyer review this — the text below is a plain-English starting point, not legal advice.

1. Educational purpose only

Everything on Typed — the absorption journeys, timing guidance, time-to-effect estimates, interaction flags, and myth/reality cards — is general educational information about how nutrients, foods, and exercise behave in a typical human body. It is written for a general audience and cannot account for your age, sex, weight, pregnancy status, medical conditions, medication, allergies, or blood work.

2. Not medical advice

Nothing here is medical, nutritional, or professional advice, and no doctor-patient or practitioner-client relationship is created by using this site. Always speak to a qualified healthcare provider before starting, stopping, or changing any supplement, diet, or exercise programme — particularly if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, taking prescription medication, managing a chronic condition, or preparing for surgery.

Never delay or disregard professional medical advice because of something you read here. If you think you may have a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.

3. Supplements carry real risks

Supplements are not risk-free by virtue of being available without prescription. They can interact with medication, compound each other's effects, be harmful above certain doses, and are regulated far more loosely than medicines in most countries — meaning a product's actual contents may differ from its label.

4. About the interaction and stack checker

The stack checker flags interactions generated from a small set of shared mechanism tags. It is a teaching tool, not a clinical screening tool. An empty result does not mean a combination is safe — it means nothing is flagged in our current tag set.

The dose totals it shows are calculated from typical supplement doses recorded in our data, not from what your particular product contains. They exclude anything we have not recorded a dose for, and they do not count food or fortified products, which contribute to the same upper limits. Treat the totals as a prompt to read your own labels, not as an accurate measurement of your intake. The suggested daily schedule is a starting point built from general timing guidance, not a personal regimen.

5. About the medication flags

Some entries list well-established interactions with classes of medication. This list is deliberately incomplete and is not a screening tool. It covers only interactions that are well documented, it does not account for your dose, your other medicines, or your medical history, and an entry with no flags has not been cleared — it simply has none recorded.

A pharmacist can check your actual medication against everything you take, usually free of charge, and that is the right way to do this. Never start, stop, or change a prescription because of something on this site.

6. About the label scanner

The scanner matches text it reads from a photo against ingredient names. OCR misreads things. It does not verify a product's real contents, doses, purity, or safety, and a match is not an endorsement of that product.

7. Accuracy and sources

We aim to ground content in reputable sources and to mark entries whose sources haven't been verified yet. Even so, nutrition science changes, sources can be superseded, and errors happen. Content is provided "as is", without warranty of accuracy or completeness. Spotted something wrong? Please tell us — ideally with a source.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Typed and the people behind it are not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from reliance on the content of this site. You use it, and make decisions about your own health, at your own discretion and risk.

9. Acceptable use

You're welcome to read, share, and link to Typed. Please don't scrape it wholesale, republish it as your own, present it as medical guidance, or use it to make claims about a product you sell.

10. External links

Source links point to third-party sites such as the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements. We don't control those and aren't responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

11. Changes

These terms may change; the date above will change with them. Continuing to use the site after an update means accepting the revised terms.
